Aviation Heritage Park & Museum, in partnership with the Two Creeks Garden Club, will hold a special dedication ceremony for a new Gold Star Marker on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. The marker will be permanently installed on the grounds of Aviation Heritage Park, located at 1825 Three Springs Road.
The Gold Star Marker is a symbol of remembrance and honor for Gold Star Families—those who have lost a loved one in service to our country through the United States Armed Forces. The dedication follows the Two Creeks Garden Club’s installation of a Blue Star Marker on Veterans Day 2025, which honors all who have served. This event is open to the public and will include a brief program followed by light refreshments in the museum.
The placement of this marker is a joint effort between the two organizations, highlighting their shared commitment to honoring military heroes and their families. The Two Creeks Garden Club is part of a national network of garden clubs that works with Gold Star Families to place these markers across the country, while Aviation Heritage Park & Museum is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of aviation history by telling the stories of heroic regional aviators.
“We are incredibly honored to partner with the Two Creeks Garden Club to bring this Gold Star Marker to Bowling Green,” said Bob Bubnis, Executive Director of Aviation Heritage Park & Museum. “This marker will serve as a permanent tribute to the immense sacrifice made by Gold Star Families in our community and across the nation.”
Susan Throneberry, Blue Star Marker Chairman of the Two Creeks Garden Club, added, “Our club is proud to participate in this national initiative. It’s a privilege to help create a place where these families can feel the support and gratitude of the community.”
Aviation Heritage Park & Museum is actively seeking to identify and honor local Gold Star Families at this dedication ceremony. Families with a loved one who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces are encouraged to submit names for recognition through the form below.
Please use this form to submit names of regional Gold Star Families. We will contact them to invite them to the Gold Star Memorial event and give them and their fallen hero the honor they deserve.
