During World War II and the Vietnam War, American Red Cross volunteers known as the Donut Dollies served near the front lines and on military bases, offering troops a much-needed connection to home. Through coffee, donuts, conversation, and kindness, they brought moments of comfort and morale to those serving far from home.
At Aviation Heritage Park & Museum, visitors can experience this history firsthand with tastings of wartime-inspired treats, including “war cake” and classic donuts.
This event takes place at the Museum on Three Springs Road in Bowling Green, KY located next to the Pickleball Palooza courts during Duncan Hines Days. , creating a lively and welcoming community atmosphere.
