Come to the park Saturday, October 8, 10 am – 2 pm, for both the Drone Dash and Open Cockpit Day! It’s your once a year chance to get an up close look at all the park airplanes. The cockpits will be open for you to check out what is inside!
Each plane in the park will have a docent on hand to tell the story of the plane and the famous heroes who flew those planes. You will be able to climb some steps and check out the interior of the plane.
Pictures will be available at the F9F flown by LCDR John Magda. Magda served in both WW2 and the Korean War and was the leader of the Blue Angels. He was the recipient of the Navy Cross and the Distinguished Flying Cross plus many others.
Additionally, the big mobile repair tent currently covering Phantom 550 will be open for all guests. Come in so we can tell you all about our ongoing restorations. We will be showing Hell Over Hanoi, the exciting History Channel program about Dan Cherry’s shooting down a MiG-21 in Vietnam.
