Aviation Heritage Park & Museum is excited to announce that school field trips are now available at no cost for a limited time thanks to the generosity of the Billie P. Hatcher Charitable Trust.
This grant allows schools to bring students to Aviation Heritage Park & Museum for an engaging educational experience exploring aviation history, space exploration, and the inspiring stories of aviators connected to Kentucky and the region. Free tours will be available while grant funding remains.
The trust is named for Billie Pitchford Hatcher, a Scottsville native and member of the Pitchford family, whose legacy includes the Citizen-Times, the oldest newspaper in Kentucky to remain in the founding family. Ms. Hatcher served as one of the newspaper’s publishers and was followed in that role by her nephew, Bob Pitchford, a member of the Aviation Heritage Park & Museum Board of Directors.
The Billie P. Hatcher Charitable Trust was established to support educational opportunities and charitable initiatives that benefit communities important to Ms. Hatcher.
Teachers, homeschool groups, and youth organizations are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to bring students to the museum. Guided tours typically last 60–90 minutes and must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
