The aircraft is a UH-1B Iroquois that saw duty as an Army gunship during the war in Viet Nam. After decommissioning, the aircraft was discovered by Hollywood, appearing in several feature television shows and movies like China Beach, The Rock and Die Hard.
Aviation Heritage Park has recently been awarded a Huey to display in the park. The as yet undelivered helicopter will tell the story of the heroism and courage of the warriors of Vietnam. The September 10th park visit by the MARPAT team Huey is part of Aviation Heritage Parks’ campaign to secure area donations to RestoreBGHuey.com, a fund established to help cover the transportation and restoration costs of the Huey.
Heroes’ stories should never die. They live forever at Aviation Heritage Park. The park is always free to guests but donations to the RestoreBGHuey.com campaign are encouraged at this event.
