Attend the dedication of Marine One at Aviation Heritage Park on September 12, 2020. It’s virtual, and can be found on AHP’s FB page. The park’s Marine One helicopter honors former commander of the HMX-1, Bowling Green native Col Arthur (Mac) Reynolds.
In an ordinary year AHP would reveal the artifact and celebrate the achievements of the honoree during the June hangar party at the Bowling Green airport. This has not been an ordinary year.
In 2019 the helicopter was moved from the National Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola to Aviation Heritage Park where it has been restored by a crew of volunteers. Marine One now rests on its display pad, joining the other six artifacts in the park.
Two celebrations are planned on September 12, 2020.
You are invited to attend the virtual reveal and dedication of Marine One, a VH3 helicopter honoring Col Arthur (Mac) Reynolds, as it broadcasts on Aviation Heritage Park’s Facebook at 6 pm Sept. 12, 2020
The live event will take place earlier the same day at Aviation Heritage Park- Sept. 12 at 2 pm. Because of Covid restrictions, the live reveal in the park will be limited to invitation only.
