Aviation Heritage Park Celebrates Blockbuster Fundraiser!
Bowling Green, KY – Aviation Heritage Park was buzzing with excitement on Friday, June 14, 2025, as its annual Hangar Party took flight, proving to be a resounding success despite earlier weather concerns. While threatening skies loomed, they brought only a welcome cool breeze and a stunning evening, setting the perfect stage for an unforgettable night of community and celebration.
The Hangar Party, the park’s largest annual fundraiser, drew a fantastic crowd of 800 people eager to support Aviation Heritage Park and Museum, both of which offer free admission thanks to the incredible generosity of the community. Attendees enjoyed a refreshing selection of cool drinks, with White Squirrel Brewery on hand to provide their always-tasty craft beers.
A truly inspiring moment unfolded as the crowd collectively saluted the flag, followed by an address from a true American hero: General Joseph Ralston. General Ralston, who served as the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and leader of NATO, is honored with the F-105 static display at Aviation Heritage Park & Museum. His words resonated deeply, reminding everyone of the sacrifices and dedication that shape our nation’s history.
The BBQ dinner was delicious and then the energy shifted gears as the talented Sidewinders, featuring some of Orchestra Kentucky’s amazing performers, took the stage. Their electrifying music had the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing along, creating a vibrant atmosphere that filled the hangar.
“This event is absolutely vital to the continued operation of Aviation Heritage Park and Museum,” said Bob Bubnis, Executive Director of Aviation Heritage Park & Museum. “We are so fortunate to be able to offer free admission, and that’s only possible because of the incredible support from our community, our dedicated volunteers, and especially our generous sponsors.”
The Aviation Heritage Park and Museum would not exist without this crucial community support, and the success of the Hangar Party directly contributes to their mission of preserving aviation history and honoring those who served. The park extends immense gratitude to all of its sponsors, with special recognition for the top-level contributors: Jim & Jan Bohannon, Western Crane Service, M & L Electrical, Scotty’s Contracting and Stone, Franklin Bank & Trust, and the Cohen Group.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the 2025 Hangar Party an overwhelming success! Your generosity ensures that the rich history of aviation continues to be celebrated and shared for generations to come.
